Currently District Fire Chiefs and Fire District Boards from Bennett-Watkins Fire Rescue, Byers Fire Protection District, and Strasburg Fire Protection District have been meeting and discussing the consolidation and merger of the three fire districts to better serve the communities along the I-70 Corridor.
This mega merger will combine over 1,300 square miles of fire district together and the formation of this fire authority will improve Fire/EMS services throughout the east metro communities.
Byers: +/- 660 square miles
Bennett-Watkins: +/- 365 square miles
Strasburg: +/- 262 square miles
