Chief Disher
Chief Disher has been with Byers Fire since 2006. Chief Disher has served as a member, Fire Captain and Chief of Byers Fire. Chief Disher is a certified EMT-IV, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat Technician, Fire Instructor I, State of Colorado Division of Fire Proctor, State of Colorado Division of Fire Live Fire Proctor, Driver/Operator, Driver/Operator Proctor, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 700, and ICS 800 certified.
Captain Schledorn-Rudden

Captain Schledorn-Rudden has been with Byers Fire since 2017, and is currently serving as the EMS Coordinator for both Byers Fire and Strasburg Fire (our neighbor to the west). Captain Schledorn-Rudden is a Paramedic, Firefighter I, Hazmat Technician, State of Colorado Division of Fire Proctor, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700 and ICS 800. Captain Schledorn-Rudden has extensive experience in both rural and urban EMS, having worked at Denver Health and in the State of Montana. She has substantial experience in education and peer support. During her off time she enjoys spending time either with her family or outdoors and with her dog, Maiden, and her significant other.


Captain Sketers
Captain Sketers is currently serving as the Fire Captain. Captain Sketers is a ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 700, and ICS 800 certified. Captain Sketers enjoys playing with his daughters, hunting, fishing and relaxing on his boat.
Captain Nowak
Captain Nowak has been with Byers Fire since 2015, and is currently serving as a Captain with Byers Fire and a Cadre representative for the East Metro Training Consortium. Captian Nowak has worked with our corridor partner, Sable Altura as a Lieutenant, prior to coming to Byers. Captain Nowak is an EMT-IV, Firefighter I, Hazmat Operations, Colorado State Division of Fire Proctor, S-130, S-190, L-180 Red Card, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, and ICS 800.


Lieutenant Dillingham
Lieutenant Dillingham has been with Byers Fire since 2015, and is currently serving as a Lieutenant with Byers Fire overseeing fire operations, apparatus training, and building maintenance. Lieutenant Dillingham is a Paramedic, Firefighter I, Hazmat Operations, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700 and ICS 800. Lieutenant Dillingham currently works for Strasburg Fire part-time and owns his own construction-remodeling company with his wife.
Lieutenant Fredrickson
Freddy came to Byers September of 2022. Has 20 plus years as a medic and little over a decade of fire experience. Firefighter I, haz-mat ops and awareness. Experience throughout the corridor as recent with Bennett Watkins Fire, Sable Altura, and part time with Strasburg. On his off time enjoys taking care of his family, studying Colorado history and trains. Also enjoys teaching with the EMS program at Community College or Aurora.


Ms. Anderson
Ms. Anderson has been with Byers Fire since 2021 and is currently serving as a part-time paid staff member. She oversees all social media (Facebook, Instagram) and runs the Byers Fire website. She is an EMT-IV, Firefighter 1, Hazmat Operations, Wildland Firefighter, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, ICS 800. She also works for UCHealth in the Burn Unit. When she isn't working she loves playing soccer, exploring new places in the mountains, paddle boarding and goes hunting every year with her family.
Ms. Kerns
Ms. Kerns has been with Byers Fire since 2019 and is currently serving as a full-time paid staff member. Ashtin started her career in the cadet program the summer before her junior year of high school. Before she graduated high school she completed her EMT Certification as a senior. Kern's is an EMT-IV, Firefighter I, Hazmat Operations, Wildland Firefighter, Fire Proctor, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, and ICS 800. When she isn’t working, she enjoys going on adventures, paddleboarding, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.


Mr. Geiselhardt
Mr. Geiselhardt joined Byers Fire as a volunteer in 2020 and became a part-time paid staff member in 2023. He is an AEMT, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, ICS 800. He also works for UC Health and is currently enrolled in Paramedic School. Outside of work and school he enjoys photography, hiking, and spending time with his dog.

Board of Directors
Serving the community of Byers by providing financial oversight and guiding district policies, the Board of Directors is a group of individuals who donate their time to the District. The Board consists of a Chairman, a Vice Chair, Secretary-Treasurer, and two Board Members.
The Board of Directors meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 630pm.

R. James Shelley
Chairman of the Board
Chairman Shelley has been a member of Byers Fire since 2000, first beginning with Byers as a volunteer, serving 11 years and obtaining his Fire I. He was heavily involved and the founder of Byers' Fire Prevention program and has served on the Board of Directors since 2004.
