Byers Fire Command Staff
Chief Disher has been with Byers Fire since 2006. Chief Disher has served as a member, Fire Captain and Chief of Byers Fire. Chief Disher is a certified EMT-IV, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat Technician, Fire Instructor I, State of Colorado Division of Fire Proctor, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 700, and ICS 800 certified.
Battalion Chief Williams started her career as a cadet in 2012. Currently serving as a Battalion Chief and the EMS Coordinator of Byers Fire, Chief Williams handles all EMS matters for the department. Chief Williams has also served as the secretary, a Lieutenant and the EMS Captain of Byers Fire. Battalion Chief Williams is a certified Paramedic, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat Operations, Fire Instructor I, State of Colorado Division of Fire Proctor, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 700, and ICS 800 certified. Battalion Williams is currently working on her Bachelors of Emergency Systems Management at Metro State University. Battalion Williams currently also works as a Paramedic for Rapid Response Paramedic Services (a sports-based event medical company). When not working, Battalion Williams enjoys playing with her two dogs, Xena and K-9, or hiking, kayaking and snowshoeing.
Captain Sketers is currently serving as the Fire Captain. Captain Sketers is a ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300, ICS 700, and ICS 800 certified. Captain Sketers enjoys playing with his daughter, hunting, fishing and relaxing on his boat.
Captain Nowak has been with Byers Fire since 2015, and is currently serving as a Captain with Byers Fire. Captian Nowak has worked with our corridor partner, Sable Altura as a Lieutenant, prior to coming to Byers. Captain Nowak is an EMT-IV, Firefighter I, Hazmat Operations, Colorado State Division of Fire Proctor, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, and ICS 800.
Firefighter Koldeway is currently serving as the Secretary for Byers Fire, fulfilling many duties for the department including taking minutes during meetings and tracking shift worker's attendance. Firefighter Koldeway is EMT-IV, Firefighter I, and Hazmat Operations. Firefighter Koldeway is also currently a nurse at a regional hospital.
Lieutenant Clemons has been with Byers Fire since 2017, and is currently serving as a Lieutenant with Byers Fire, overseeing the Station 71. Lieutenant Clemons is an EMT-IV and holds his ICS 100, ICS 200, and ICS 700 certifications.
Lieutenant Dillingham has been with Byers Fire since 2015, and is currently serving as a Lieutenant with Byers Fire overseeing fire operations, apparatus and training,g, and building maintenance. Lieutenant Dillingham is an EMT-IV, Firefighter I, Hazmat Operations, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700 and ICS 800. Lieutenant Dillingham currently works for Strasburg Fire part-time and owns his own construction-remodeling company with his wife.
Lieutenant Pappel has been with Byers Fire since 2019, and is currently serving as a Lieutenant with Byers Fire overseeing technology and scheduling.
Lieutenant Schledorn-Rudden has been with Byers Fire since 2017, and is currently serving as a Lieutenant with Byers Fire, overseeing the Peer Support-Wellness Team, the website and social media, and assisting with EMS operations under Battalion Chief Williams. Lieutenant Schledorn-Rudden is a Paramedic, Firefighter I, Hazmat Technician, ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700 and ICS 800. Lieutenant Schledorn-Rudden works full-time in Denver as a Paramedic, but during her off time enjoys spending time outdoors and with her two dogs, Motley and Maiden.
Board of Directors
Serving the community of Byers by providing financial oversight and guiding district policies, the Board of Directors is a group of individuals who donate their time to the District. The Board consists of a Chairman, a Vice Chair, Secretary-Treasurer, and two Board Members.
The Board of Directors meet the 2nd Monday of every month at 630pm.

Chairman of the Board
Chairman Shelley has been a member of Byers Fire since 2000, first beginning with Byers as a volunteer, serving 11 years and obtaining his Fire I. He was heavily involved and the founder of Byers' Fire Prevention program and has served on the Board of Directors since 2004.
